Hossa Al Mutairi

Sustainable Energy, Food and Water System Task Force Chair, and Research Fellow, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC)

Dr. Hossa Almutairi is a research fellow at KAPSARC in Riyadh. Currently, she is the Think20’s (T20) Sherpa and is leading the Secretariat of T20 Saudi Arabia. She is also the lead co-chair of T20 Saudi Arabia’s task force “Sustainable energy, water and food systems.” Prior to joining KAPSARC, Dr. Almutairi was a faculty member at the University of Wilfrid Laurier, Canada. Alongside developing energy and economic models to study the impact of energy and environmental policies on economies, her research interests include sustainable development and wealth accounting. The main goal of her work is to provide policymakers and practitioners with decision support tools that can help identify the challenges, opportunities, and solutions associated with moving toward sustainable energy and sustainable business practices. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals. She has a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in Applied Operations Research from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from King Abdulaziz University. Dr. Almutairi has more than 15 years of experience in national and international academia, research, project management and collaboration with multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.”
