Mark N. Katz received a Ph.D. in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982. He has been a Professor at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, since 1988. He is also a Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council, a member of the Scientific Advisory Council of the Finnish Institute of International Affairs, and a member of the editorial board of Asia Policy (published by the National Bureau of Asian Research). He has written primarily on Russian foreign policy, American foreign policy, the international relations of revolution, and great power competition.
